For this kind of problems, it is necessary to care about the identifiability of a model, that is, whether its unknown parameters are uniquely determined from the data. Especially if they are not uniquely determined, a parameter vector which is obtained in some way is just a part of a set of possible parameter vectors, and hence, such typical approaches result in losing information that is determined from the data and the model. Against this, we propose a method to describe the information determined uniquely from a state space model and time series data as the parameter manifold, which is a manifold that consists of possible parameters.
