To improve safety of fishery, we developed a simple system for measuring wave height using an accelerometer installed on the controller of a smart-buoy. The developed system measured wave height by calculating the acceleration component in the vertical direction after correcting the smart-buoy's tilt by mathematical rotation. In order to confirm whether the developed system could be measured wave height, we implemented the system on the smart-buoy and we conducted the demonstration experiment at sea.
