（IMU: Inertial Measurement Unit） の活用はスポーツパフォーマンスの分析において大きな可能性を秘めていると考えられており，今後 IMU を活用したスポーツパフォーマンスの分析が，これまで注目されていなかった様々なスポーツに展開 ・ 応用されることが期待できる．本稿では，様々なスポーツ競技の中でも特に，日本の伝統的なスポーツ競技の一つとして認知されている剣道に着目し，剣道上達支援システムの実現に向けた第一段階として，IMU を用いた打突動作の認識手法を新たに提案する．具体的には，6 人の被験者を対象に，右手首，腰，右足首，竹刀鍔，竹刀先革に取り付けられた IMU から得られる加速度及びジャイロデータを基に，打突動作の分類を行なった．対象とする打突動作は，剣道において最も一般的な 「面」，「突き」，「胴」，「小手」 の 4 種類と，打突箇所に左右を加えた 8 種類とし，機械学習アルゴリズムとして Random Forest （RF） を用いて評価した．同一被験者のデータのみで学習した結果，右手首，腰，右足首のデータの組み合わせにおいて，4 クラス分類で F 値 ： 97.5%，8 クラス分類で F 値 ： 91.4%
