超高精細映像の遠隔地への伝送方法として IP ネットワークを媒体とする手法を採用し，さらに，8K 映像本来の超高精細映像品質の確保と伝送遅延を最小限に抑えるために，伝送時に一般的に行われる映像圧縮を行わない非圧縮伝送を行う手法が注目されている．ただし，この非圧縮 8K 映像の伝送には膨大な伝送帯域が必要となり，8K (7,680 × 4,320 pixels) / 30p 映像で約 25 Gbps の帯域が必要になる．これまでに，8K 映像の伝送として，世界初の非圧縮 8K IP 伝送チャレンジ，IP マルチキャスト技術を使用した映像切替，SDN 技術を使用した伝送経路制御，映像コンテンツの漏洩 / 改竄を防ぐための暗号化，高臨場感を再現するための立体音響技術を使用した実証実験を行ってきた．最新の実験では，伝送経路の冗長化 （マルチパス） を行うことで，一切の映像の乱れを発生させない映像伝送の信頼性を確保するための実証実験を行った．本稿では，これまでの 8K 映像を IP
