• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 今日，英語教育の重要性や必要性がうたわれ，様々な書籍やアプリケーションなどが作成されている．また，英語で書かれた興味深い記事も Web ページとして多く公開されており，生きた英語の学べる英語教材として利用されるようになった．これらの Web ページは，取り上げるトピックは多岐にわたるが，比較的平易な単語や英語表現を用いて作成されており，語彙レベルも中学や高校生レベルで読めると想定されている．しかし，実際に多読の自律学習を行っている学生の英語レベルは多様であり，その能力に応じて適切に単語の意味を提示する必要がある．これまでに我々は GSL や AWL，JACET を利用して単語の難易度を把握し，学習を支援するシステムを開発してきた．しかしながら，GSL や AWL，JACET が実際に妥当であるかは未検証であった．また，GSL や AWL，JACET に含まれない単語の難易度の設定に関しても未解決であった．本論文では，学生の本支援システムの利用時の挙動を未知語の意味検索履歴を通して分析することで，これらの課題の解決を試みた．その結果，GSL，JACET の語彙をベースとしたシステムが妥当であることと，これらの語彙に含まれない単語についても学生の TOEIC スコアと検索履歴を組み合わせることで難易度を推定できる可能性があることがわかった．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Recently, the importance of English education is widely recognized, and there are many textbooks and applications. Moreover, there are many public web pages of interesting articles in English, which are frequently used as the materials for learning active English. Though those web pages include so various topics, they generally consist of relatively easy words and simple expressions where the vocabulary level is assumed to be suitable for the learners in junior and senior high school. However, there are various learners who try reading English materials extensively, and their English level is also various. Therefore, the meanings of the words should be provided suitably according to their English level for supporting their learning. We have developed a learning support system estimating the level of each word by utilizing the standard vocabulary lists such as GSL, AWL, and JACET. However, it was not clear whether the estimation is actually appropriate or not. Moreover, it was hard to estimate the level of the words which are not included in the standard vocabulary lists. In this paper, we try to solve these two problems by investigating the behaviors of the learners (their retrieval of words) in the learning support system. Consequently, it is shown by the statistical tests that the level estimated by GSL and JACET is appropriate. In addition, it is suggested that the level of unknown words can be estimated by utilizing TOEIC scores of the learners and their retrieval of words.
