内容記述 Household appliances and plug in loads amount to between a quarter to a third of household electric demand while often being classified as miscellaneous energy consumption. To be able to fully understand energy consumption in an era of ever growing numbers of devices, we evaluate a new type of active sensing method to test its ability to classify different types of electrical loads in sub-minute time, allowing for appliance classification without the need to collect data for long periods of time. We demonstrate how to collect and break down an electric signal with active sensing and show that it is possible to correctly classify appliances with simple sensors and without long data gathering times.
