In this paper we propose a structural model for highly readable formal specifications. We also discuss a universal method for describing formal specifications based on our specification model. A metamodel of our specification model is designed borrowing the concept of MVC architectural style. We organize based on this metamodel the constituent elements and relationships between them taking refinement relations into account. We present a set of functional style VDM-SL templates to promote declarative and concise descriptions.
