The features of the standard are summarized in the following two points. Firstly, the standard defines informatics that spreads across bun-kei (humanities and socal sciences) and ri-ken (natural science and engineering). Secondly, it defines informatics as a meta-science. In relation with the two points, we briefly explain the following two fields from the body of knowledge of informatics: general principles of information, and understanding humans and societies that process information (socio-informatics). In the second half of the paper, we discuss how to reform informatics education. We first claim that reforming informatics education is a kind of social innovation, and activities for reforming informatics education are regarded as research in informatics. We then describe what talents are expected as the goal of informatics education, and briefly touch upon the education system for achieving the goal. We finally claim that for reforming informatics education, it is necessary to draw a blueprint of our ideal society and locate informatics education in the blueprint.
