Several quantitative models of motion-sensitive neurons called lobula plate tangential cells (LPTCs) in the fly visual system have been proposed: The four-detector (4D), six-detector (6D) models and the two-detector (2D) model. Here, we select the most suitable model from the above three ones by fitting electrophysiological data of LPTCs in responses to motion stimuli. We calculated generalization errors (GEs) of the models by cross-validation method. Due to the result of cross-validation and non-reasonability of the 4D and 6D models fitted to the electrophysiological data, we can select the 2D model. |
