メガワットでのエクサスケール・コンピューティングを実現するためには,HPC システムの電力効率向上が大きな課題となっている.これまでは,アプリケーション実行時の性能向上を目的とし,多くのプログラマがコードレベルでのチューニングに多大な労力を費やしてきた.優れたチューニング技術により性能は劇的に向上してきたものの,現在ではさらに電力効率向上を実現するためのチューニング技術が求められている.しかしながら,コードレベルチューニングが電力効率に与える影響は明らかでない.そこで本研究では,消費電力を考慮せず性能最大化を目標とした従来のコードレベルチューニングが電力効率に与える影響を評価・分析する.代表的な HPC カーネルを実行する 2 種類のプログラムの世界最高性能を達成した実装を用い,それらに適用されたチューニング技術の性能,消費電力,電力効率を実プラットフォームにおいて評価する.また,電力制約下でのアプリケーション実行を想定し,CPU および GPU
