The major problems are (1) that adjustment requires the high-precision positioning and angle settings with um resolutions; (2) that adjustment must simultaneously satisfy multiple goals (both positioning and the angles of the optical axes) that have a trade-off relation; and (3) conventional detection systems, involving mirrors and sensors, are complicated and costly. In order to overcome these problems, we propose a multi-objective automatic adjustment method for optical axes that employs genetic algorithms and incorporates a new optical sensor.
