On the other hand, it needs to be considered from different viewpoints from conventional ones. In this paper, we discuss the security of the block-based scrambled schemes against jigsaw-puzzle solvers. Block-based scrambled image encryption schemes are conventionally verified secure because the key space is large enough to be against a brute-force attack. The encrypted image has the same correlation blocks between the original ones despite the encryption. We compare divided blocks to jigsaw-puzzle pieces to verify the security of permutation-based image encryption schemes.
