Modeling objects in real world is one of the important research topics in computer vision field. Such modeling results are widely used to games, movies and cultural heritage digitization to name a few. Among various reflection properties, interference is one of the most intractable effects since its color varies iridescence along the viewing and lighting directions. Yet, modeling shapes and appearances of objects with interference effects would be useful for diverse applications in industry, biology, archeology and medicine. The interference effects are due to interactions between incoming and reflected lights, and depend mainly on geometrical information and optical parameters. In this thesis, we propose a novel method to reconstruct shapes and estimate optical parameters of thin film objects. We also evaluate the effectiveness of our method in experiment. |
