Our system employs embedded accelerometers and magnetometers in off-the-shelf mobile devices to detect vibration of vehicles and activity of electric motors, respectively. Analyzing the sensor measurements with a light-weight machine learning algorithm, it enables fine-grained, continuous monitoring of trains' motion on the spot.
