For family members living away from him/her, there is an increasing number of expectations for elderly monitoring services that can inform their fundamental activities or emergency situation like a fall. In our previous work, we have proposed falling detection method using thermopile sensor axrays. However, this method has the issue that consecutive movements can not be divided. Moreover, knowing daily fundamental activities of elderly people is also important to prevent from future accidents. Therefore, in this thesis, we propose activity recognition method that can distinguish consecutive movements. In new method, the temperature distribution sent from the sensor is classified into 5 activities: no event, stopping, walking, sitting, and falling. The method includes new evaluation functions, features, and features extraction timing to improve our previous work. As the results of experiments, recall ratios of \"No event\" and \"Stopping\" were 97.7% and 100%, respectively.
