As seen above, the environment for a game development becomes substantial, however, a methodology to create a brand-new game with novel concept is still developing. In recent years, not only game development tools but also new game mechanisms including a Gamification become to attract attention. Based on such circumstances, we conducted an event titled “Student Game Hackathon with Open Data 2015,” which intends to cheer up students who belongs to a university in the Kansai area. This hackathon aimed to explore a delightful use case of open data, by employing the open data as the feature of a game.
