ライブセルイメージングデータに存在する多数の細胞領域を自動的に検出・追跡することは,画像から何らかの定量化を行う際の人的負担の軽減につながる非常に重要な課題である.しかしながら,追跡対象となる細胞がしばしば密に存在し視覚的に類似しているため,標準的な追跡手法を適用した場合,本来の追跡対象を別の対象物と誤認し,容易に追跡に失敗する.一方で,4D ライブセルイメージングデータ内の細胞の運動には追跡精度の向上につながる以下のような空間的依存性が存在する:(1) 近隣に存在する細胞群の移動方向・移動量は概ね等しい,(2) 細胞群の相対位置が概ね保存される,(3)
