However, the distance among loudspeakers should be less than 8.5mm to cover the up to 20 kHz, and it is realistically impossible. We are investigating the condition in a subjectively equivalent sound field to sound field with spatial aliasing. In this report, we investigated that whether it was possible to discriminate the sound field of the condition that spatial aliasing does not produce at all and the condition that spatial aliasing produce when upper-limit frequency of spatial aliasing of sound source was assumed to be 14kHz. Listener listened stimuli through a headphones. Stimulus were synthesized with Binaural Impulse Response (BRIR) calculated by combination of FDTD and BEM, and we compared with conditions w/wo spatial aliasing.
