paper aims to applying mobile computing to social events for communities.We provided around 100 personal digital assistants(PDAs) with wireless phones and various communication/information services to the attendees of an actual international conference.After the confertnce,we analyzed a large amount of log data togather with post-questionnaire data,and obtained the following results.(a)People continuously use PDAs not only at the conference site but also in their hotel rooms after dinner.(b)E-mail services are utilized independently of the event structure,while the load of information services peaks reflection the progress of the
