• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 大学などの集合情報処理教育施設においては，NFSなどの分散ファイルシステムを用い，数千人以上のユーザデータや共有データを管理しているところが多い．このような環境においては，授業利用時のユーザによる一斉操作によるネットワーク，サーバへの負荷集中への対応がシステム設計において重要である．本論文ではEthernetを基本とした様々なネットワーク構成例において，ユーザ操作によるNFSおよびNFSサーバへのアクセス負荷集中を想定したシミュレーションを行い，教育用システムに適したネットワーク構成指針を示す．授業利用時のユーザ挙動に即したシミュレーションを行うため，教育用システムでの実測データに基づくモデルを用いた．シミュレーション結果に基づく性能とコスト面からの検討により，教育用システムにおいては媒体共有型の100? Mbps Ethernetによる構成もしくはスイッチング型Ethernetを用いた10/100? Mbpsのビッグパイプ構成が適切であることを明らかにした．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In concentrated educational computer facilities for informationprocessing at universities which have many users more than 10000,distributed file systems like NFS are widely utilized for maintaininguser data and public data. It is very important for designing thosesystems to avoid a performance decline by network access concentrationsto the networks and servers caused by users' operations. We evaluatedthe performance of various network topologies based on Ethernet to findproper designs for the networks for educational computer systems bysimulations in the access concentration scenarios. To simulate usersbehavior in educational systems, we utilized models based on measuredbehavior in actual educational systems. Simulation results and the costevaluation of LAN systems prove that shared 100\,Mbps Ethernet or 10/100\,Mbps big-pipe topology using switching Ethernet are suitable foreducational computer network systems.
