In the proposed system, called AIR-NMS, the empirical knowledge and status information required for network management are structured as various AIRs and implemented by using software agents. Through the coordination/organization of these agents, they support a part of the network management tasks, which are usually burdened to the network administrators. In this paper, focusing on a management task based on the network status information, we propose an architecture, a design method and the coordination/organization mechanism of I-AIR which holds network status information represented as the AIR-based descriptions in the AIR-NMS.
