It enables to control multiple objects on the screen simultaneously or increases the variety of manipulation. We implemented a new MPIS on SmartSkin, a sensor architecture for freehand manipulation. This sensor recognizes multiple hand positions and shapes and calculates the distance between the hand and the surface by using capacitive sensing and a mesh-shaped antenna. The prototype system can track over 10 fingertips motions simultaneously in real time. We also developed a new interaction techniques, which tracks the motion of the hand for massive concurrent manipulation.
