But most of systems have one-way communication system. These systems don’t aim to mutual communication between sightseers by information sharing. The two-way communication, such as a chat or exchanging digital files included photos, is a common sense in Japanese ubiquitous society. Therefore, we have developed a prototype universal guide system, which was named xExplorer. xExplorer has real-time information sharing functions including image data, a chat, and mutual location information. We applied the system to the streets in the southern bound of Osaka and the Palace museum in Beijing. Subjects were Japanese and Chinese. The results of experiments show below: (1) The evaluation of the image data sharing function was high in both Japanese and Chinese. Because they can share the others with view points in real timely. (2) The chat was used for not only communication but also explaining relating shared contents. Sometimes, the content of chat messages is about an image data. (3) The system should have a function that helps the correlation between image data and chats. Then, the image data, which is an object of chats, can be found easily.
