Unfortunately, to solve the Poisson equations needs large amounts of memory and processing time in case that size of the object to be pasted is large, because some kind of two-dimensional iteration processes are required. In this paper, we present a new technique for fast Poisson image synthesis algorithm using complementary subsampling. Poisson blending is performed on the subsampled image, and the synthesized image is enlarged by a new adaptive interpolation method using gradient information in the original object to be pasted, which can restore high frequency component without blurring.
