In densely deployed WLANs, there are a lot of neighboring WLANs. The throughput performance of WLAN significantly degrades as the number of neighboring WLANs increases due to the increase of frame collision probability caused by the contention of access points (APs). To solve this problem, we have studied random arbitration interframe space number (AIFSN) scheme. Our previous studies only focus on media access control (MAC) layer performance in a single WLAN.
