• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 島根大学における Ruby 教育は，プログラミング知識の習得だけでなく，Ruby を中心とした最新の IT ビジネスや技術動向について広く学ぶことを目標としている。プログラミング言語 Ruby および開発フレームワークである Ruby on Rails は，その生産性の高さが注目され，近年の Web アプリケーション開発市場におけるニーズが拡大している。本稿では，本学における教養科目としての Ruby 教育の実践と課題について報告する．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: The aim of Ruby programming education at Shimane University is not only to learn how to program but also to learn about the latest trend of information technology relating to Ruby. Ruby programming language and the web application framework using Ruby on Rails are watched by all the world with interest because of their productivity, and their market needs are expanded in recent years. In this article we report on overall status and the future outlook of practical education of Ruby programming in our university.
