• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本研究では、論説文の文脈理解に向けて、論説文の筆者が文中で行う陳述の態度を分類し、その分類の自動判定を試みる。文脈上で筆者の意見が述べられている文を意見文と定義し、また意見文でない文を叙述文と定義する。さらに意見文を、意見を陳述する相手の有無と意見を陳述する対象の有無の二軸を基準に分類する。これらの分類に叙述文を加えて、文モダリテイ・カテゴリと呼ぶ。この分類手法に基づいて、カテゴリの自動判定を試みた。被験者が書いた小論文に対して人手で文モダリテイ・カテゴリを付与し、文モダリテイ・カテゴリ・コーパスとし、提案手法を用いて、文モダリテイ・カテゴリ・コーパスに対して判定実験を行った。結果、提案手法が高い精度で文モダリテイ・カテゴリを自動判定できることを示した。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In this paper, we present a categorization of sentence modalities by which the writer of an editorial expresses his/her attitudes, and an automatic classification of the sentence modality, in order for context understanding of editorials. First, we define sentences which express author's opinions in a context as "opinion sentences" and sentences which are not opinion sentences as "description sentences". Furthermore, we classify opinion sentences in two axes: One from the existence of the partner to whom the opinion is explicitly stated and one from the existence of the object which is explicitly stated by the sentence. Combinatorially, these make four categories, and by adding the description sentences, we call them "sentence modality categories". Then, based on this classification, we constructed an automatic classifier the modality category. We annotated the sentence modality categories by hands to sentences in short essays, which were written by subjects, called "the sentence modality category corpus". Applying the proposed technique to the sentence modality category corpus, we evaluated our methods to be effective for modality classification, with high precision.
