• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: XMLによるデータ記述をもちいて画像の内容記述を作成し，これにより画像内容に基づく検索を可能にするシステムを構築した．データ入力時に，画像内容の対象物の位置，大きさ，および対象物についての名称などのラベルを付与して，XMLデータファイルを生成し，これを検索に利用する．XMLによるデータの記述を，画像データについてのメタデータとして蓄積し，インターネット上でのデータ表現とする．検索時には，画像中の対象物についての概略位置と大きさ，対象物についてのラベルを検索条件とし，これとXMLデータファイル中のデータを比較することで，類似度を算出する．この手法を用いて，静物画などの絵画100枚を対象画像とした検索実験を行った結果，良好な検索が得られた．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: We have developed a system which enables image content description and retrieval by using XML. In data-input time a user describes contents of target images by interactively specifying location, size and label of each object. These information, togerher with location of an image file, will be include in XML data format by defining several elements by DTD. In retrieval time the same information will be specified interactively by the user. Image will be retrieved by comparing information containded in XML file with parameters specified.
