• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 数年前にソフトウェアメーカーを中心とするグループによって開発された国際統一符号化文字集合UnicodeはISO 10646としても規格化され、その実装が進んでいる。それにともなって、一般利用者の間でも漢字にかかわる問題と関連してUnicodeが関心を集めるようになってきた。本稿では、Unicodeの概略、及びその動向を説明した後、文字コードにおける文字の定義の観点から、Unicodeの利用に際しての問題について考察する。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Unicode developed by mainly computer vendors and also defined as ISO 10646 is now in the implementation phase. Users are concerning about Unicode related to some discussion on Kanji. This paper clarifies these discussion from viewpoint of character defintion in coded character set, and consider the processing to utilize Unicode.
