• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 重点領域研究「沖縄の歴史情報研究」（平成6-9年度）の課題は、情報科学の援用を得て琉球・沖縄史研究の実証的文献研究に不可欠な各種歴史資料の情報化を進め、その有効利用を図ることである。本研究は、歴史学と情報学の研究者による共同研究によって進められた。本研究で得られた成果は、総合化された「沖縄の歴史情報」データベースで、研究文献情報（約7万件）、史料所在情報、主要史料の全文テキスト(約200MB)、画像データベース(約19GB)及びマイクロフィルム版「琉球史料集成」（約40万コマ）などから成る。また、歴史研究に必要なユーザインターフェース、資料の提供方式、漢字処理等についての研究を行った。本報告では、主に情報学の視点からの課題と研究成果について述べる。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Research for Historical Information Resources of Okinawan Studies, (1994-1997) one of the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Priority Areas supported by the Ministry of Education, had two aims: one was to comprehend totally the historical materials necessary for an actual proof and document study on the history of Okinawa, through information processing using database systems and aims at making it expansive to use them effectively; the other were the studies on the Okinawa history assisted by computer science. The results obtained from the project, which is the joint work in History and Informatics, are as follows;(1) a database of Historical Information Resources of Okinawa Studies which are composed of Research Literature on Okinawa History, A Collection of locations of Documents on Okinawa History, the full text database of major historical sources, the image database, and approx. 400,000 micro film pictures. (2)Studies on the user-interface, the providing of scheme Kanji text processing mechanism. This paper describes the study on the project and their achievements mainly focused on the visual aspects of informatics.
