• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 形状の類似度測定はパターン認識の古くからの課題であるだけでなく、画像からのシーン認識にとって非常に重要である。特に形の認識にとって相似変形（平面内での平行移動、回転、拡大縮小）に対する不変性は本質的であるので、これを備えた形状記述に基づく類似度測定法がいくつか提案されてきた。ところが、いずれもその性質を満たすために原理が複雑になっている。ここでは原理が単純で直感的に理解し易い形状記述を提案し、その記述空間上での単純な距離尺度を用いて類似度を測定する手法について述べる。この形状記述は、対象形状を包含する最小の円とその同心円における、円と形状との交叉数と、交叉部分の長さの総和を要素とする特徴ベクトルであり、相似不変性を備えている。本類似度測定法にしたがって、異なる方向から見たときの物体のシルエットや、形に個体差のある同種類の物体のシルエットを対象に類似検索を行ない、本類似度が物体のシルエット形状間の類似性を良く表すことを示す。さらに、アルファベット指文字のシルエットに適用することにより、柔らかい物体の自然な変形に対しても良い性質を持つことを示す。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Similarity mesurement between two dimensional shapes is important factor for automatic objects identification from their images. Every existing similarity measurements that are invariant for translation, rotation and dilatation, which are essential property for recognition of shapes, became complicated for satisfying it. This paper proposes a new shape similarity measurement which provides the invariant properties and whose definition is so simple that it can be intuitively understood. In order to testify the effectiveness of the measurement, several similar shape retrieval experiments are carried out. The results demonstrate that the measurement well represents the similarity among the silhouettes of three dimensional objects and finger characters.
