| 内容記述 | 近年、人工知能研究は、基礎理論の範囲から、AIマシン・ツール、エキスパートシステムなどの応用システム(AAI)まで急速に拡大しつつあるが、強い期待と共に多くの不安と課題を残している。これらはまだ、AIの第一世代ともいうべきもので、AIが本格的なものとなるには、さらに長期にわたるアプローチに基づく数段階のブレークスルーが必要である。ここでは、AIの現状をどう捉えるか、何がどこまで可能か、残された課題は何か、将来的展望の上にどう取り組んでいくべきかを基礎理論・応用・利用の立場から、それらの相互関係の下に包括的に討論する。また、AI研究は、研究者の哲学や社会的背景の影響を強く受けるものであり、欧米とは異なった風土をもつ我が国に独自の思想と方法論に基づく体系を確立するため、特に、我が国におけるAI研究の進め方・将来像についても討論したい。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | In recent few years, field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being extended very rapidly, from pure research to applied AI, involving AI machines, tools, and expert systems. Though AI have give people lots of expectations to the future, we should say a number of crucial questions should be answered so that it can convince people of its ultimate success. AI has only finished its first generation, and we still need a long term research to undertake until we see a real success. In this panel, we anticipate a comprehensive discussion from different perspectives: research, application and utilization. In particular, we will focus our attention: (a) evaluation of current status, (b) the limitation, (c) remaining problems, and (d) possible direction, of AI. We will also try to find a "Japanese" style of AI research, slice our social, philosophical and cultural background differs from western countries' where AI was born. | |||||||
