• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 多様な情報の流れを実際的な設計の複雑性の範囲内で実現するために、情報の流れを捨象した設計としての制約を考える。さらに、頑健性や文脈依存性を達成するために、制約の違反の程度をポテンシャル・エネルギーによって計量し、そこから導かれる力学を用いて情報処理を制御する計算アーキテクチャを論ずる。たいていのエネルギー関数の下では、力学的相互作用が推論の長さに応じて過度に減衰してしまうので、「正しい」エネルギー関数が満たすべき要件として、局所的な情報処理を組み合わせて大域的な推論を並列分散的に行なえるということが重要である。制約の各部の局所的な状態の間の方程式の組合せによって融合 (soluti) の大域的な意味を力学的にとらえ、その方程式を近似的に成立させるエネルギーを与えることにより、明示的に大域的な処理を行わずに多段の推論を実現する方法を示す。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: A notion of constraint is proposed as a design abstracted away from information flow, in order to implement diverse flow of information within a practical design complexity. To capture robustness, context-sensitivity, etc., the degree of violation of constraint is measured in terms of potential energy, and information processing is controlled by the resultant dynamics. Since with most energy functions dynamical interaction tends to dump too drastically along inference distance, an important criterion of a 'right' energy function is that it enables long-distance inferences in a parallel distributed manner as combinations of local information processing. The global semantics of resolution is captured in dynamics with equations among local states of parts of constraint, and long-distance inferences are realized without recourse to global symbolic computation, by approximating those equations in terms of energy functions.
