• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 言葉による伝達というものは，「単位情報」（事象）が「つなぎ」で結ばれて，リズムを伴って，順次に発話され記述されることである．つまり，時系列あるいは内在する論理によって，「単位情報」＋「つなぎ」＋「単位情報」＋等々，という形で伝達がなされるということである．「単位情報」は動詞をコアにして名詞，代名詞で形成され，「つなぎ」は接続詞や関係詞，その他である．「つなぎ」の位置は言語によって異なるが，ここでは，日本語と英語に関して「プロのベテラン翻訳家」は，「動詞を中心とする単位情報」と「つなぎ」をどのように処理しているかを実例で示したい．それは現在の機械翻訳システムの「構文解析」と「格解析（意味解析）」とは異なっているように思われるからである．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Translation is to change from one language to another while keeping the same meaning, but machine translation systems which we use now do not work well. They cannot translate English to Japanese effectively, much less Japanese to English. So I suppose that machine translation systems are completely different from expert translators’ systems in structure analysis and in case structure analysis. I will show you the process professional translators follow when they translate sentences and I would like you to consider improving machine translation systems.
