• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 我々は，医療，福祉，教育のコンテンツ配信やTV会議システムと高速データ通信などを組み合わせた地域適合型のマルチメディア統合サービスを検討している．本研究では，都心部にある大学の研究センターと，遠隔地にあるモデル実験地域の実験センター間を超高速ATM網（ギガビットネットワーク）で結び，更に実験センターと近隣地域の公共施設や，更に離れた場所にある町村部を，無線LANや高速ディジタル回線などで結び，居住場所に関わりなく，高度な住民サービスが受けられるような地域住民主導型のサービスシステムの構築を行う．また，高速光無線システムを無線ATMとして用い，MPEG-4の動画を用いたTV会議や動画像ストリーム配信を特徴としている．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: We have been studying the integrated multimedia services to a regional area, which includes delivery of heakth care, welface and educational infomation using video conference systems and high speed networks. We are deveroping the service systems by the resident's initiatives, which have high level servece avaiability irrespective of their living locations. The research centers of the universities located in the metropolitan area of Tokyo are connected to the laboratories in the rural areas in Saitama throigh ATM network(JGN), and also the laboratories sre connected to the neighboring pubric facilities as well as to the sites of a distant villege in the district with wireless LAN and high speed digital leased line. We are also expermenting on the delivery of MPEG-4contents in such applications as video conference and streaming services using high speed optical wireless ATM network.
