• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 「ユビキタス」、「AUTO ID｣、｢無線タグ｣という言葉は、最近では一般の新聞に頻繁に取り上げられるほど流行語になっている。その反面、これらの言葉の定義が曖昧なため技術的に必要な機能と直接結びつけることは非常に難しい。この論文では現在提唱されている有望なサービスと、それらに共通な技術的課題と将来において進むべき方向について述べる．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: The terms "Ubiquitous", "Auto-ID", and "wireless tag" have recently become very popular and frequently appear in the daily newspapers. Despite their popular use, it is very difficult to express their real functions because the definitions of these terms are not clear. This paper explain promising services that are currently proposed, technical problems common to these services, and the direction research should head in the future.
