• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本稿では，ホームネットワークに接続された多数の情報家電を，一元的かつ直観的な操作により遠隔制御するためのフレームワークUbiREMOTE を提案する．UbiREMOTE では，ホームネットワークが敷設された空間（対象空間と呼ぶ）の間取りと設置されている多数の情報家電を模した3D 仮想空間を構築し，対象空間と情報家電の動作状況を3D グラフィックでリモコン端末に表示する機能と直観的に家電を操作するGUI を提供する．UbiREMOTE での情報家電の遠隔操作は，(1) 視点を仮想空間の制御したい情報家電の近くまで移動させ，(2) 家電を表すグラフィックオブジェクトを選択し，(3) 表示される個々の操作ウィンドウを操作する，といった手順で行う．また，ユーザが対象空間にいる時のリモコン操作を容易にするため，リモコン端末に表示される仮想空間が，実空間でのユーザの視野に一致するよう制御する機能を提供する．UbiREMOTE フレームワークに基づいたリモコンのプロトタイプをタブレットPC 上に実装し，ホームサーバを含む幾つかの情報家電が接続されたホームネットワーク上で動作実験を行った結果，UbiREMOTE による各家電の操作時間について実用的な性能が得られることを確認した．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In this paper, we propose a framework called UbiREMOTE for remote control of multiple information appliances connected to a home network in a unified and intuitive fashion. UbiREMOTE framework adopts a concept that a user controls and observes target appliances through a 3D virtual space which is constructed according to a real space where the target appliances are deployed. UbiREMOTE provides facilities (1) to display the dynamically changing status of the target space and appliances on the screen of the remote controller terminal, and (2) to control each appliance through intuitive operations on the terminal’s screen. More precisely, in order to control each appliance, a user moves its view closer to the appliance in the 3D virtual space,selects it, and manipulates an interface window appearing on the screen. UbiREMOTE framework also facilitates control operations within the target real space; that is, the remote controller terminal measures the user’s direction in the target space and displays the virtual space from the measured direction. We have implemented a prototype of the remote controller based on UbiREMOTE using a Tablet PC, and conducted some experiment on UPnP-based home network including a home server and several appliances. Through experiments, we have confirmed that UbiREMOTE controller achieves practical performance in operation response time.
