• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 1次元1近傍のセル・オートマトンは1個のセルに対して自己の状態を決定する仕組であるから，それが作り出すパターンはずらし繰返しによるパターンと同じである．ずらし量が大きいと前列のパターンとの結びつきがまったく変わってしまい，驚くほど違ったモチーフができる．この関係は同じ初期値から新しいパターンを導くのに使える．またこのオートマトンは生成されたパターンから初期値が復元できるので，模様制作に必要な初期値を通常の方法で描いたモチーフから作ることができるし，ランダムな初期値を評価関数で選抜してもよい．以上の手法を利用して模様を試作し，実用性を確認した．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: The mechanism of 1-D, 1-neighbor cellular automata is essentially the same as "shifting repetition." Because of digital representation shifting a few cells breaks the old combinations of black cells between the subsequent two lines, and constructs a remarkably different devices. Not only shifting, but modification of initial data, and the change of function give a rich variety of patterns. The authors analyze the properties of the generation, propose some techniques, and have designed some patterns using them. Ther result proves the idea to be practical and fertile.
