| 内容記述 | マルチメディア分散在席会議システム (RMA) は、地理的に離れた利用者が自席のWSから会議を開催するなど、広域多者間のグループ協同作業を支援する為に開発されたシステムである。グループ協同作業の参加者は、音声、動画の共有のみではなく、テキスト、イメージ、図形、手書きなどから構成されるマルチメディア文書をリアルタイムで共有・編集できる。本稿では、MERMAIDを基盤としてた分散方式によるアリケーションプログラムの協調制御方式とその実現例について述べる。分散方式とは、同一のアプリケーションプログラムが参加者の各WSで起動され、それらのアプリケーションプログラムの処理の同期をとり、処理結果を共有する方式である。MERMAIDは、アプリケーションの分散協調制御のために、広域多者間の通信機能および、データ同報制御機能を提供する。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | A distributed multiparty desktop conferencing system, called MERMAID, was developed for supporting a wide range of group cooperative work. It allows a group of widely-dispersed users to conduct a meeting from their desktop workstations. Participants can jointly view and process multimedia conference documents, including text, scanned images, graphics, and hand drawn figures they are sharing. Also, they can simultaneously interchange voice signals and video images. This paper describes a control scheme for sharing applications, based on MERMAID, and presents examples to which the proposed scheme is applied. The proposed scheme is designed, based on a replicated or destributed architecture, in which a copy of the application runs at every distributed site or workstation. MERMAID provides communication functions for maintaining an identical state across all copies of an application in a replicated environment. | |||||||
