本稿では，NTCIR-18 FairWeb-2 タスク (11 月参加登録締切，12 月結果提出締切，2025 年 6 月 NTCIR-18 カンファレンス)のウェブ検索 (WS: Web Search) および会話型検索 (CS: Conversational Search) サブタスクについて紹介する．その主な研究課題は「一般的にあまり知られていない適合エンティティ(映画，研究者，YouTube 動画)に対し，検索結果中で相応の露出を提供することができるか?」である．すなわち，検索要求に適合する情報を返すだけではなく，様々な観点から公平な露出 (fair exposure) を達成できるかに着目したものである．NTCIR-17 FairWeb-1 タスクとの主な違いは，WS サブタスクにおいて再現可能性 (reproducibility) を扱っている点と，テキスト対話を扱う CS サブタスクを新たに導入した点である．タスクへの参加を是非ご検討いただきたい． |

This paper introduces two subtasks of the NTCIR-18 FairWeb-2 task (task registrations due November; run submissions due December; the NTCIR-18 conference to take place in June 2025), namely, the Web Search (WS) subtask and the Conversational Search (CS) subtasks. The main research question is: For any relevant entities that are not generally as well known as the others, can we provide the exposure that they deserve in the search results? That is, we tackle the problem of ensuring fair exposure from various viewpoints, instead of just focussing on providing relevant information. The main new features compared to the NTCIR-17 FairWeb-1 task are: the WS subtask addresses reproducibility; and the CS task is introduced to deal with textual dialogues.
