| 内容記述 | 人工知能 (AI) やデータサイエンス (DS) の倫理・法・社会的課題 (ELSI) を考察する際には，先端科学技術一般に共通する課題と分野特有の問題に分けるべきである．「AI」については「情報・知識にかかる先端科学技術」 と同一視可能であって，研究テーマの外延は文脈に依存する．一方で，DS は現在 AI の中心とみなされる研究テーマであるが，かつて AI のコアであったがそうでなくなった経路探索のようなテーマと同様に，いつまでもコアである保証はない．しかし DS に特有と考えられている統計的手法の課題は，まさに長年科学方法論の議論の中心であり，専門家への信頼毀損といった本質的かつ重大な問題をはらむ．さらに，個別分野に DS を応用するデータ駆動型科学に関しては応用先の ELSI 課題を増幅する効果があり，個別科学の哲学・倫理学の知見を参照しなければならない． | |||||||

| 内容記述 | Ethical, legal, and social issues (ELSI) of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science (DS) should be classified first into two categories: those common to advanced science and technology in general and those specific to DS. “AI," being "advanced science and technology for information and knowledge," is essentially elusive; the extension of research themes in AI is transient. DS currently resides in the central position in AI, but like pathfinding, which was once a core topic of AI but is no longer so, there is no guarantee that it will keep the hegemony. The issues of statistical methods, however, has been the core of scientific methodology. In addition, data-driven science, which applies DS to individual fields, brings impacts the ELSI issues of the applied DS areas. The findings of the philosophy and ethics of individual science should be referred. | |||||||
