• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: フラクタル画像符号化では，各画像ブロックに対して，アフィン変換後に最も相似する画像ブロックを探索するブロックマッチングを行う．ブロックの相似性は，ブロック間の画素値差二乗の積算値で評価するので，解析的に最適なアフィン変換係数を算出できるが，多数の乗算を必要とする．一方，候補係数の中から最適な係数を選択する手法では，乗算数は少なく，多数回実行される二乗計算を簡単な回路で近似することで計算量を低減できる．本研究では，ブロック相似度計算に疑似二乗を用いることでハードウェア量を低減したフラクタル画像符号化アーキテクチャを提案する．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In fractal image coding, many block matchings are performed to determinethe affine transformed image block which best resembles an image block inthe image to be coded.The image block resemblance is measured by thesum of the square of pixel value differencesbetween two blocks. The best affinecoefficients can be calculated mathematically but many multiplications arerequired.In this paper, to reduce the hardware cost,an architecture for fractal image codingis proposed wherethe best affine coefficients are searchedamong candidates by using pseudo-square operations in resemblance computation.
