• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本稿はニコライ・ゴーゴリの書簡における文体がいつの時代に変化したのかを特定することを目的とする．そして彼の死の原因となった精神病理がいつ何をきっかけに生じたのかを明らかにする．文章の特徴として 1） 一つ一つの文の長さと 2） 文を構成する単語の長さの 2 つとした．これらの特徴が 1820 年から 1852 年の間にゴーゴリの書簡においてどのように変化しているか調べた結果、1847 年を境に文が長くなったという結果を得ることができた．これは 『友人との往復書簡選』 を出版した時期と一致した．以上をふまえてゴーゴリの精神的な病は 『友人との往復書簡選』 の出版後に始まったという結論が得られた．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: The purpose of this paper is to clarify when N.V.Gogol's styles in his letters changed, in order to find the reason of Gogol's mental sickness. We use the length of a sentence and the length of each word in a letter as the feature of Gogol's style. We surveyed changes of these features in Gogol's letters that were written between 1820 and 1852. It became clear that from 1847 sentence length became greater in Gogol's letters. In this period, ‘Selected Passages from Correspondence with his Friends’ was published. As a result, we came to reach the conclusion that Gogol's mental sickness occurred after publishing ‘Selected Passages from Correspondence with his Friends’.
