• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 本研究では、特定の地域の住民同士が、その地域の歴史や文化に関する物語としてのナラティヴ(narratives)を蓄積・継承していくことで、住民の地域アイデンティティやコミュニティ意識を高める取り組みを行っている。本稿では、この研究活動の基盤として開発した地域アーカイブ構築ツールKACHINA CUBEシステムの概要について述べる。KACHINA CUBEシステムでは、アーカイブの対象となる地域が、WWWヒでの仮想的な3次元空間(CUBE)として表現される。またKACHINA CUBEは、利用者の協調作業によってアーカイブ構築を行うという「ナレッジブルアーカイブ」のコンセプトに基づいて設計されており、多様な利用者が、それぞれが持つ断片的な情報やナラティヴを、あたかも付箋を重ねて貼っていくように、対話的に追記していくための仕組みが用意されている。この仕組みによって、特定の地域におけるナラティヴが、時空間のメタファーであるCUBEモデルにマッピングされ、地域アーカイブとして蓄積・継承されていく。本稿の最後では、KACHINA CUBEシステムを用いたナラティヴの蓄積事例として、我々が現在構築中の「京都ナラティヴアーカイブ」の機能とユーザインタフェースの概要を紹介する。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: This research aims at the development of local identity among members of a community through story-telling of the regional narratives using digital archives. This paper proposes the KACHINA CUBE system, which enables its users to locate narratives to the virtual 3D space on WWW. The system assists the users to exchange and share their information and narratives about the region. The architecture of this system is based on the concept of Knowledgeable Archives, which allows the users to participate in the collaborative archive construction. At the end of this paper, we introduce functionalities and user interfaces of the Kyoto Narrative Archives system that focuses on storing and sharing of the narratives in the Kyoto city.
