Even if a pixcel in the image includes a little bit of change, it is difficult for human eyes to perceive the change. Therefore, digital image processing might tolerate approximate calculations for each pixel data which result in inaccurate output values. The approximate computing can reduce power consumption, delay, and implementation area of arithmetic circuits at the cost of the accurate calculation. An approximate adder circuit, CMA was proposed in our previous work. CMA can configure accuracy of calculation dynamically, and reduce power consumption depending on the accuracy configuration. In this paper, we apply CMAs to all additions in an image sharpening circuit, and investigate the relationship between the quality of the processed image and the configuration. Finally, this paper shows accuracy configuration that can achieve the maximum power reduction with keeping the recognition of images by human eyes.AA11451459研究報告システムとLSIの設計技術(SLDM)2018-SLDM-1827162018-01-112188-86392017-12-25
