Culture is defined as customs and behavioral norms shared and maintained by the members of social groups. These customs and behavioral norms play significant roles in how people behave in their conversational interactions. This paper reports on a comparative analysis of conversation styles in Japanese and English speakers, based on a dialogue corpus collected on a common story construction task conversations, and interaction style differences are characterized in connection with their respective linguistic resources. A notion of cultural interaction behavior parameters are proposed and discussed to provide a unified account for a range of these interaction style variations.AA11135936研究報告知能と複雑系(ICS)200934(2009-ICS-155)5112009-03-132009-08-18
