PDAs can be used for various purposes, and applications for entertainment, especially those centering on music, are expected to gain more importance. However, currently most applications only allow users to listen to music and there are few applications that enable users to enjoy and participate in playing music. Therefore, the goal of our study is to construct the DoublePad/Bass as a mobile electronic musical instrument to enable users to enjoy playing music anywhere. The DoublePad/Bass is a musical instrument that uses two PDAs with a touch panel display. It realizes the input by allocating two PDAs for inputs at each hand like playing an electric bass. Thus, musicians who can play an electric bass can also play the DoublePad/Bass. Moreover, the system provides a simple playing mode for users who are not familiar with playing music to able them to play music easily. Using this system, users can play music no matter where they are, by themselves or by collaborating with others.AN10438388情報処理学会研究報告音楽情報科学(MUS)200182(2001-MUS-041)77822001-08-042009-06-30
