It recognizes various objects indispensable to driving such as roads lanemarks other cars etc from input images by camera. The feature of the system is the improvement of the recognitive efficiency by matching the result of the recognition with the model describing the relation among the objects and adaptation to the transition of the driving environment by understanding the comprehensive circumstance such as form of roads number of lanes time weather etc. In this paper we carry out the experiments recognizing the road the right and left lanemarks and the preceeding car and we indicate that the recognitive efficiency improves with feedback of the matching result. We propose an understanding system for the driving environment.
